The Border Management Authority says that narcotic ingredients worth an estimated R1 billion were intercepted at the Beitbridge Port of Entry in a truck traveling from Malawi into South Africa.
Three foreign nationals appeared in the Musina Magistrates Court on Friday in connection with this drug bust.
The bust has once again raised serious concerns around porous borders, corruption at ports of entry, cross-border organised crime, and the continued movement of undocumented migrants through unroadworthy buses entering the country.
