Devendra Nath Mahto Hopeful of Talks, Warns Jharkhand Protest Will Continue

Jharkhand student leader Devendra Nath Mahto, who has been on a hunger strike since August 2, spoke about his health and the fresh round of talks between student protesters and the Jharkhand government.

Mahto said he was hopeful about the talks and urged the government to address students’ concerns over the education system, paper leaks and irregularities in competitive examinations. He warned that the protest would continue if the government failed to meet the students’ expectations.
