Debate: Who’s right about gas prices, Trump or Americans?

Global oil prices rose significantly during the United States and Israel’s war with Iran. With a fragile, two-week ceasefire in place, all eyes are on Iran’s plan to open the Strait of Hormuz, the vital waterway for transporting crude to the rest of the world. Experts have cautioned not to expect an immediate return to normal vessel movements.

When asked about gas prices on the White House lawn Thursday, President Trump said “they’re not very high”. But, according to recent polling, a majority of American’s disagree.
