COSATU welcomes fuel levy relief extension

Labour union federation COSATU has welcomed Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana’s decision to extend the fuel levy relief for May.

COSATU says this will provide short-term relief to workers.

COSATU President Zingiswa Losi, however, raised concern over the continued lack of relief for paraffin users, who are among the most vulnerable people who need support from the government.

Losi was in Polokwane, Limpopo, where preparations for the national Workers’ Day rally are underway.

She is expected to deliver the keynote address on Friday.
