Widely regarded as one of the most progressive in the world, South Africa’s Constitution is the cornerstone of the country’s democracy.
Forged in the spirit of 1994, it drew on the collective wisdom of elected representatives determined to break decisively from apartheid, a system that oppressed the black majority.
Its mission was clear, to enshrine and protect the rights of all who live in the country.
