‘Completely out of touch’: Flag change doesn’t resonate with mainstream Australians
Executive Director of the Samuel Griffith Society Mia Schlicht says the push to change the Australian flag is “completely out of touch”.
“An overwhelming majority, in fact, over 70 per cent of Australians back our national flag and believe that is our most unifying symbol,” Ms Schlicht told Sky News host Steve Price.
“It doesn’t resonate with mainstream Australians.
“The fact that the Australian government can’t answer as to whether they support the Australian flag or not speaks volumes.
“It just shows how under the thumb the Labor government is with the unions and how it’s really the unions who are behind the wheel of this Labor government.”
