Community help needed to find unregistered childcare centres, says Nancy

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri has urged communities to report suspected illegal childcare and daycare centres to authorities to help prevent child abuse and deaths.

She said the Welfare Department relies on public tip-offs to identify unregistered centres and will take immediate action, including closure orders, against operators found violating regulations.

Nancy also announced that registered centres will be issued official plaques to help parents identify legitimate facilities.
