‘Clueless’: Albanese’s fuel boast amounts to just two extra days of supply
Sky News host James Macpherson reacts to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s recent announcement that an extra 200 million litres of diesel is headed to Australia.
“The PM’S announcement had all the cadence of a wartime logistics breakthrough,” Mr Macpherson said.
“But 200 million litres. It lands with the satisfying thud of a big number. The sort of number that’s meant to stop questions from forming in the public mind, and replace them with applause.
“Until you realise that Australia uses almost 100 million litres of diesel every day.
‘So what’s been announced, with all the gravitas of a moon landing, is two days’ worth of fuel.”
