Protesters in Tehran have declared the US midterms a “victory” for Iran, after voters overwhelmingly rejected President Donald Trump’s Republican Party.
The US and Israel launched the war in Iran in February, and since then it has triggered a regional war involving multiple countries and sent fuel prices spiking across the world — including in the United States.
Both Trump and his VP, JD Vance, have blamed their party’s poor midterms results on the war in Iran.
Protesters filmed overnight in Iran said their hostility towards the US would “never end”.
However, many Iranians are unable to speak freely or criticise their own government.
