Case against Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala and co-accused posted to 26 June 2026


The case against Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and his co-accused has been postponed to the 26th of June for further financial investigations, verification and disclosure of the docket.

Matlala and 15 others are charged with fraud, corruption and money laundering. The case is linked to the R228-million Medicare 24 tender, in which proper procurement processes were allegedly not followed.
The contract was later cancelled due to the irregularities.
Suspended SAPS Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola, is accused no 17 in the matter, charged with contravening the Public Finance Management Act.
