Breath of #winter in #autumn: Polish peaks covered in #snow
Winter has arrived in Poland’s mountains, with fresh snowfall covering Śnieżka and Kasprowy Wierch peaks.
Conditions in the Karkonosze Mountains are particularly adverse, with fog, strong winds, and freezing temperatures. On Śnieżka, the perceived temperature has dropped to -14°C.
Mountain rescuers from GOPR Karkonosze warn tourists not to be misled by milder autumn weather in the valleys. Above 1,000 meters, the real winter conditions prevail.
