BREAKING: Iran SHOOTS DOWN American Aircraft Over Hormuz In Huge Escalation In Gulf | WATCH
Iran claims it has shot down another US MQ-9 Reaper drone over the Strait of Hormuz, escalating tensions with Washington after days of relative calm. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said its air defence systems intercepted the American-made unmanned aircraft, sending it plunging into the Persian Gulf. The claim comes a day after US forces reportedly struck a naval base on Iran’s southeastern coast, wounding two Iranian troops. The reported downing adds to mounting concerns over the losses of America’s high-value surveillance and strike drones during the conflict. Reports suggest the US military has lost nearly 50 MQ-9 Reaper drones, worth at least $1.3 billion, since the war began. With each aircraft costing up to $50 million and capable of conducting prolonged surveillance and precision strikes, the losses could affect US operational capabilities across the Middle East.
