Body of famed Nepali climber found after Pakistan avalanche


The body of celebrated Nepali climber Nirmal Purja, who was killed in a Pakistan avalanche on Thursday, has been recovered. He was among 10 people, including climbers from China, Nepal, Pakistan, Oman and the US, who were missing since they were struck by an avalanche on the 8,051-metre (26,414ft) Broad Peak, the world’s 12th-highest mountain. Purja had set a record for completing the fastest ascents of the world’s 14 highest mountains.
