Blindfolded bots and robo-dogs gear up to scale Mount Tai #shorts
The inaugural CMG World Robot Mount Tai Climbing Competition is kicking off in Shandong, China, putting specialized mountain robots to the test on real-world terrain. quadrupedal and bipedal robots—including robotic dogs utilizing LiDAR for 3D mapping and humanoid bots equipped with custom sensors—will navigate the mountain’s irregular steps and cobblestone paths. Some advanced entries will even attempt a “blind climbing” mode, relying entirely on joint forces and tactile foot-ground feedback to adjust their stride and balance in real time.
