Blanche AG confirmation: Tillis, Cornyn & Republicans affirm vote, say DOJ has ‘thrived’ under him
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche’s prospects for getting confirmed to his role permanently have turned brighter ahead of a key committee vote Aug. 4, but his pathway to approval from the full Senate isn’t assured yet.
Even if Blanche wins approval from the Senate committee, he will still need to get confirmation approval from the full Senate. A vote from the full body could take place before the end of the week, when senators may leave the capital for a scheduled August recess.
