Bellarmine Mugabe and co-accused plead guilty: Mnguni

The defence teams representing attempted murder accused Bellarmine Mugabe and his co‑accused, Tobias Matonhodze, have asked the Alexandra Regional Court to impose suspended sentences.
The submission follows the pair’s decision to enter into a plea and sentence agreement with the State.

Mugabe has pleaded guilty to the pointing of a firearm and to contravening the country’s immigration laws.

His co‑accused, Matonhodze, has admitted guilt to attempted murder, defeating the ends of justice, contravening immigration laws, and the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
