The Kremlin is hitting the brakes on President Trump’s “quick-win” diplomacy. As the May 9th ceasefire begins, Dmitry Peskov warned that the U.S. is “in a hurry” to resolve conflicts that are far too complex for rapid settlements. By linking the war in Ukraine to the naval crisis in Iran, Peskov sent a blunt message: Washington is looking for shortcuts where none exist. For Moscow, a three-day truce is a far cry from a permanent peace agreement, and they are telling the White House to “be patient.”
