Dewi, a mother of four, told the ABC she once gave up her newborn son for about $400 during a period of severe hardship, before eventually being reunited with him.
Indonesia’s child protection commissioner says known cases of illegal adoption and baby-trafficking may be only the “tip of the iceberg”.
