Australia spends $150m on Fiji climate summit | 7NEWS
Australia is spending over $150 million on a pre-COP climate meeting in Fiji, with Energy Minister Chris Bowen committing taxpayers to cover the full costs of planning, running and broadcasting the October event because host country Fiji cannot afford it. Documents reveal $17.2 million allocated for event management and $2 million for broadcasting services, while invited world leaders, including Donald Trump, Xi Jinping and Emmanuel Macron, have so far declined to attend.
