Australia losing refineries had a ‘domino effect’ on the current fuel crisis
Tenant Advisory Chief Executive Officer Paul Howes spoke on the slow burn of the fuel crisis and warned of the current economic position it poses on Australians.
“Unfortunately, with the loss of our refineries, particularly along the east coast of Australia, we have lost our ability to ever really return to the security we had around 15 years ago in terms of energy supply,” Mr Howes told Sky News host Sharri Markson.
“You can’t separate energy security from national security, and you can’t separate energy security from economic security.
“They are kicking the can down the road around really important decisions in terms of capital outlays that would help make Australia a more productive and prosperous country.”
