Army base fire among Canada’s worst peacetime tragedies: Mark Carney | ABC NEWS
At least four Canadian service members have been killed in a blaze at a military base in Alberta and authorities fear the death toll could rise.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has described the fire at CFB Wainwright as ‘one of the worst tragedies’ the Canadian military has suffered on home soil in peacetime.
Canada’s Department of National Defence says its early investigation has found no sign the incident was the result of a terror attack.
