ANC reflects on past five years

The African National Congress (ANC) says there have been improvements in the delivery of certain services in the country based on its 2021 local government elections manifesto review.

At a media briefing at Luthuli House, ANC national executive committee members reviewed developments in housing, water, and energy over the past five years.

While reporting some positive developments, the ANC noted that more work needed to be done to ensure that more skilled people are employed in the delivery of key services and that reliability, especially in water delivery, is prioritized.

ANC NEC member Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, who also serves as the minister of electricity, noted that in the period under review, load shedding had been eliminated.

But stressed that load reduction remained an outstanding issue in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.

Nompumelelo Siziba filed this report.
