American Vessel Under ‘Heavy Iranian Fire’ In Hormuz; Massive Blaze Erupts; Iran-US War Resumes?
Did Iran strike an American-flagged vessel off the coast of Qatar? Tensions spread across the Persian Gulf after the Iranian media claimed that a commercial ship hit by an unknown projectile 23 nautical miles near Doha was U.S.-flagged, part of what Tehran called it a “terrorist” state. The attacks were the latest threats to a month-old ceasefire, which the Donald Trump administration says remains in effect. Washington has been awaiting Iran’s response to a new proposal for a deal to end the war, reopen the strait to shipping and roll back Iran’s nuclear program.
