Albanese asked if Donald Trump is hurting Australian economy
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says his government is not planning to extend the fuel excise discount but has foreshadowed further announcements on fuel in the coming days.
Albanese was asked on the ABC’s Insiders program whether his government was considering a further extension of the excise discount.
“That’s not in our planning at this point in time,” the prime minister said, adding that there will be “more announcements about fuel in the coming days and weeks as well.”
When asked by host David Speers about the impact that US President Donald Trump is having on the Australian economy, including the rise in petrol prices, Albanese said he will continue to work with him “constructively”.
