Ad Hoc Committee on Mkhwanazi’s allegations to receive first draft report

Parliament’s Ad Hoc committee – established to look into serious concerns of national security – will receive its first draft report early next week.

The committee was established following allegations made by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lt-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi of politicial interference in the crminal justice system, corruption and that crime syndicates have infiltrated SAPS.

Earlier this week, Speaker of the National Assembly, Thoko Didiza, announced that she had revived the committee after its lifespan had expired at the end of April 2026.

The committee’s deadline to table its report to the House, is 12 June.

A draft report from committee staff is expected on Monday, while the report from evidence leaders will be submitted to the committee next Friday.
