– U.S. SENATE MOVES AHEAD WITH HARSH RUSSIA SANCTIONS
The U.S. Congress has taken a major step toward hitting Russia with painful sanctions for its aggression against Ukraine. Championed by the late Republican senator Lindsey Graham, the new Russia sanctions bill has cleared the first hurdle in the legislative process.
– UKRAINE AND RUSSIA EXCHANGE OVERNIGHT STRIKES
Ukraine experienced another wave of Russian drone attacks, with civilians once again bearing the brunt of Moscow’s aggression. Ukraine, however, has managed to hit Russia back hard, with reports of a major logistical hub and one of the Kremlin’s largest oil refineries set ablaze by long-range drone attacks.
– 20 KILLED IN U.S.–SAUDI STRIKES ON IRAN-BACKED MILITIAS
At least 20 people have been killed and 32 others wounded in U.S.–Saudi strikes against Iran-backed militias in Iraq. Tehran has responded by striking three oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and launching a missile attack on a U.S. military base in Jordan.
