Why did Trump replace Chief of Staff Susie Willes with Stephen Miller? ‘I wanted to make a change’
President Donald Trump said top aide Stephen Miller will replace Susie Wiles as White House chief of staff, a dramatic staff shake-up days after Republicans suffered historic losses in the midterm election.
Trump said Miller, a deputy chief of staff during Trump’s second term, will begin as White House chief of staff on Monday, while Wiles will move to the president’s political operation.
Speaking to reporters outside the White House Friday, Trump outlined a cut and dry reason for replacing Wiles with Miller.
“I wanted to make a change,” Trump said. “Sometimes in life you have to make moves.”
