Ukraine’s security officials caught in corruption probe | Ukraine Brief
An anti-corruption investigation in Ukraine, codenamed Operation Carthage, has taken a new turn. On Wednesday, investigators claimed that they uncovered a criminal organization involving senior officials from the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police, and the Prosecutor General’s Office. This comes as Russian strikes against Ukraine over the last 24 hours have claimed the lives of at least 9 people and wounded 28, with civilian infrastructure and residential areas coming under fire. Search operations have entered their fourth day in Ukraine’s southeastern Zaporizhzhia region following a Russian airstrike on a distribution point for humanitarian aid. The confirmed death toll now stands at 43.
To discuss this and more, Ukraine Brief host Ayşe Abacı is joined by Yulia Sirko, Ukrainian MP, Voice Party.
