Norte fire destroys multiple homes in Orange County
A new blaze ignited Friday in the bushy foothills south of San Juan Capistrano. Dubbed the Norte fire, the blaze quickly whipped through hillside neighborhoods, prompting evacuation orders.
Officials said about 6,000 homes, and 16,000 residents, remain under an evacuation order.
“Crews will work through the night,” Orange County Fire Authority Fire Chief TJ McGovern said.
