Obama: Trump’s White House is like if ‘Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory’
Former President Barack Obama mocked President Donald Trump’s extensive renovations to the White House while speaking at a campaign rally on Saturday. Obama joked that Trump’s affinity for gold decor left the executive residence looking “like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory.” Trump fired back Monday, calling Obama a “lousy president” who allowed the historic building to fall into disrepair during his tenure. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also pushed back by eating lunch at a Washington Cheesecake Factory, where he accused Obama of elitism and compared the design of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago to “Darth Vader’s tomb.”
