Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado returns home | ABC NEWS
Venezuelan opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize recipient Maria Corina Machado has returned to country.
She left Venezuela in 2025, months before US forces captured Nicolás Maduro in January 2026.
Her return could inflame tensions with Donald Trump who has expressed support for interim President Delcy Rodriguez.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio says the Trump administration helped negotiate her return, but Donald Trump says he was not aware of the homecoming.
