Russia’s threats against the U.K. are loud – Its actions usually aren’t | Martin Sklenár
Russia has accused the U.K. of complicity in the Ukrainian long-range strikes campaign after another overnight drone attack saw hundreds of drones swarm Moscow, threatening Britain with unspecified consequences. How seriously should these threats be treated and what do they tell us about the current state of the war?
“What we have seen (is) that if Russia increases the rhetoric about threats like we see now towards the U.K. (…) we see that those threats of escalation or targeting of countries in the West are usually not followed up by concrete kinetic action,” Martin Sklenár, former Slovakian Defense Minister, told TVP World. “If Russia is already at this stage of rhetoric where it has to be very strong against concrete countries on the western side, it means that maybe we should expect a little bit of the pendulum swing coming back towards the Ukrainian side again.”
