Chalmers answers audience questions on potential gas tax

Treasurer Jim Chalmers has responded to SBS audience questions about the prospect of a 25 per cent tax on all natural gas exports.

In an interview with chief political correspondent Anna Henderson, Chalmers said Australia needs to prioritise existing natural resource agreements over the introduction of a 25 per cent gas tax.

The treasurer said the focus should be on “getting more oil supply during this oil shock”.
