25-year deal for Taiping elephants in Japan ‘too long’, says group


A 25-year agreement to relocate three Malaysian elephants to Japan has sparked public concern, with critics questioning animal welfare and calling for a government review task force.

The DAK elephants — Dara, Amoi and Kelat — are now at the centre of growing calls for their return from Tennoji Zoo amid ongoing welfare debates.
