Why UK Labour’s hold on power in Wales could soon come to an end


Millions of voters are headed to the polls in the UK, with elections being held for the Welsh and Scottish parliaments, as well as dozens of English councils.

It’s seen as a key test for UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, whose leadership could be challenged if the results are as bad for his Labour Party as the polls predict.

In Wales, Labour’s dominance is under serious threat after decades in power.

The party is polling a distant third behind the Welsh nationalist Plaid Cymru and Nigel Farage’s UK Reform.
