Court to rule EFF’s bid to revive Phala Phala matter
As the Constitutional Court prepares to deliver judgment on the EFF’s bid to revive the Phala Phala farm theft saga questions are arising on whether the boat has sailed for the National Assembly to hold President Cyril Ramaphosa accountable for the matter. The apex court is set to deliver judgment on Friday, May 8th 2026 at 10:00am. The EFF challenged the rationality of the National Assembly’s 13 December 2022 decision to not adopt the S89 Independent Panel Report into Phala Phala and the rules that permitted this.
