Kash Patel sues The Atlantic over article alleging excessive drinking
FBI Director Kash Patel filed a $250 million defamation lawsuit against The Atlantic magazine on Monday, days after the magazine posted an article alleging he has alarmed colleagues with excessive drinking, erratic behavior and frequent absences.
The lawsuit called it a “sweeping, malicious, and defamatory hit piece.”
In a statement, The Atlantic said it stands by its reporting on Patel, calling the lawsuit “meritless.”
