SIR Keir Starmer’s reign as Prime Minister is under huge pressure following the latest bombshell revelations in the Peter Mandelson scandal.
Mandelson, 72, resigned from the Labour party and the House of Lords in disgrace in February after the release of the Epstein files.
But last night, Downing Street sensationally admitted that Mandelson was hired as US ambassador despite failing his security vetting.
Sir Keir had repeatedly insisted — including in the House of Commons — that “due process” was followed.
But the bombshell revelation has now thrown his premiership into fresh turmoil and sparked calls for him to resign.
Downing Street insisted that the PM was not aware of it and blamed Foreign Office civil servants for acting alone.
