Refinery fire further highlights Australia too exposed to energy shocks | ABC NEWS


Energy Minister Chris Bowen has warned a fire at an oil refinery in Geelong may impact domestic petrol production for some time. Diesel and jet fuel are continuing to be produced “at reduced levels” with petrol production likely to be most impacted.
Bowen says the fire is ‘not a positive development’ and comes as the federal government tries to shore up support from other countries to secure fuel supply.
