Unemployment rate eases to 31.4 % in 2025: Dimakatso Manthosi weighs in
The unemployment rate has decreased to 31.4% in the fourth quarter of 2025. That’s from 31.9% in the third quarter. According to Statistics South Africa, the number of discouraged work-seekers also fell by 233 000.
Stats SA’s Quarterly Labour Force survey shows that construction, finance and community services created more jobs during this quarter.
