Two killed, over 120 drivers arrested in Joburg over Easter weekend


Over 120 motorists have been arrested for drunk driving in Johannesburg since the start of the Easter long weekend.

The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) has also confirmed two fatalities in separate road crashes, one involving a pedestrian and another a passenger.

Joburg Metro Police spokesperson Xolani Fihla says they will intensify their law enforcement operations throughout Easter.

He has urged motorists to obey the speed limit, avoid alcohol, and for pedestrians to use designated crossing points.
