On the international front, Trump reiterated his call for Russia and Ukraine to accept current battle lines, following reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed surrendering Donetsk to end the war. Trump emphasised negotiations could happen later while stressing that 78% of the land is already controlled by Russia. Trump praised Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Winsome Earle-Sears, criticised Democratic opponents, and condemned the “No Kings” protests, calling them a “joke” and questioning their representation of the American people. Trump also defended the $20 billion bailout for Argentina, noting the country is “fighting for its life” and suggested a potential deal to import Argentine beef to help lower U.S. prices. Regarding the Middle East, Trump confirmed the U.S.-brokered Israel-Hamas ceasefire remains in place after surviving its first major test. He praised the behind-the-scenes diplomacy led by Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff that helped facilitate the ceasefire agreement. Finally, Trump announced that his administration would impose tariffs on Colombia on Monday, criticising the country’s handling of the drug trade and claiming he is halting aid due to ineffective anti-drug measures.
