In north-west Victoria, a David and Goliath battle is playing out between farmers and the rare earths mining industry which has been backed by state and federal governments as the world scrambles to extract key minerals.
Update: The ‘Donald Project’ is a joint venture between the mineral sands mining and processing company Astron Limited (formerly Astron Corporation) and Uranium producer Energy Fuels, which will jointly operate the mine, trading as Donald Mineral Sands (DMS).
