Western Australian authorities have confirmed the targeting of an Invasion Day rally in Perth’s centre is now being treated as a terrorism event, marking the first time the charge has been laid in the state.
WA Premier Roger Cook on Thursday announced the 31-year-old man – who had been charged over the incident on 26 January – will now be charged with one count of engaging in a terrorist act.
