China’s hairy crabs, otherwise known as mitten crabs, have had their breeding and growth cycle disrupted by warmer waters. The crabs normally are fully mature by autumn. Crabs farmers like Xie Dandan are worried that if these crustaceans fail to adapt to warmer weather soon, future catches may continue to shrink.
