Lesotho’s oldest dumpsite burst into flames
One of Lesotho’s oldest dumpsite in the capital Maseru burst into flames this past weekend, forcing many families to flee their homes, to escape choking from smoke inhalation. According to a National University Researcher, Professor George says that landfills in Lesotho, unlike in rich countries, the Tšosane dumpsite is using not built using modern ways with liners or protective barriers to stop chemicals from leaching into the soil.
