Government studying proposal for National Children’s Commission, says Azalina

The government is reviewing a proposal to set up a National Children’s Commission, says Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.

She told the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday (Oct 29) that the initiative is timely amid growing concerns over children’s safety, welfare and protection.

Azalina said the study will examine the commission’s mandate, structure, legal framework and financial implications to ensure it complements existing agencies.
