Alfred Nzo | Calls for water provision to be prioritised

Alfred Nzo District municipality in the Eastern Cape has a new mayor, Tsileng Sobuthongo.

This follows the resignation of Vukile Mhlelembana last year.

Nomasomi Mshuqwana who took over from Mhlelembana has also resigned to give way to the new mayor.

This municipality has a R1.6-billion budget, however 70% goes to operations.

A sizeable percentage of rural communities still have no access to clean water.
