Kg Sg Baru evictions a court decision, not Putrajaya’s, says Zaliha

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa said the Kampung Sungai Baru eviction process was a court decision, not a government directive.

She was responding to a faction of residents who had requested meetings with government representatives to discuss land ownership status and urged a temporary halt to the evictions.

At a press conference on Friday (Sept 12), Dr Zaliha said the residents’ committee could instead engage directly with the land developer.
