Cobblebank stabbing victim’s father pleads for police help
Devastated family and friends of the two young boys who were killed in a stabbing attack in Cobblebank, Melbourne are calling on the police for answers and protection as authorities reveal the attack was consistent with “youth gang activity”.
Elbino Akueng, whose 15-year-old son Dau was killed overnight, told reporters he rushed back from work after hearing about the stabbing from his daughter but was kept in the dark by police until the next morning: “I said to detectives I need answers for what killed my son”.
Akueng said multiple tragedies had already affected his community, alleging “four kids in two weeks” had been killed as a result of ongoing attacks: “On behalf of my community, this is happening to us … there’s no answer from police.”
The police do not believe the victims were involved in gang activity.
